Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Durango we're doing a test fit of the car pod walled cargo carrier. It's 23 by 47 with a 450 pound weight capacity and that part number is M2205. Now, the first thing we're going to do with it on our vehicle is take a few measurements. Our ground clearance here is going to be about 17 1/2 inches. That's because we've got that nice raised shank in the back, which is going to lift that even higher than the hitch. Overall to our vehicle we're adding abut 34 inches. Our closest point is going to be on our raised shank here, we've got about 5 inches there. Now, with our vehicle we do have a single passenger side exhaust, it does come just about straight out and level with that carrier, but we have about 14 1/2 inches between the two. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we are testing the Carpod wold cargo carrier. Dimensions for the cargo carrier are, 23' by 47' with the weight capacity of 450 pounds. The part number for that is M2205. As you can see we do already have the walls up on our Carpod. What we're going to do is take some measurements, for ground clearance its going to be 17 and a quarter inches there. Our overall is going to be about 33 and half inches, and our closest point back here is going to be on the ray sink, its about 3 inches there. Now to fold down your pod we're just going to pull out these pins here. more

SportRack Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Dodge Charger- Video
All right today on this 2012 Dodge Charger we're going to do a test fit in the Sport Rack Vista Cargo Carrier for two inch hitches part number SR9851. Lets go ahead and start of our test fit. We'll go ahead and put into the shank. Then we'll go ahead and install the bolt that holds it in place. Now we put our Cargo Carrier in place in the folded position. Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're doing a test fit on the Let's Go Aero Gear Cage. This is a 32x48 cargo carrier. They have designed it for use with 2 inch hitches and it offers a 300 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is HCR222. You see the gear cage, as opposed to a lot of cargo carriers, is going to have a nice solid floor on it. I like this because it wouldn't allow smaller things to pass down and through, and we don't have to worry about dirt and debris splashing up from underneath. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Durango we are test fitting our Curt 20 x 60 Collapsing Cargo Carrier with a weight limit of 500 pounds. As you can see here, it does fit the 2 inch hitch back there. At first we are going to start with some measurements. I've got a ground clearance of about 13 3/4 and from the back of the vehicle overall, we've got about 34 inches and from the rear of the vehicle to the first point it might hit, is about 13 inches. Now as you can see down here, this is just a pin and clip to hold in the cargo carrier, so it will allow a little bit of rattle. That's pretty normal with any cargo carrier that is just a pin and clip. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Dodge Durango C18150- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Durango, we are test fitting our Curt 20 by 60 cargo carrier with a weight limit of 500 pounds, part number C18150. This cargo carrier is designed to fit a 2-inch hitch. Now, if we do some measurements real fast, down here is our ground clearance, from the ground to the lowest point here, we've got about 5 1/4 inches there. Our overall length added to the vehicle is about 28 1/4 inches. Down here, our closest point that might hit the vehicle is about 5 inches away. While we're down here, you can see that this is a pin and clip connected cargo carrier which will allow for a little bit of shake in the cargo carrier which is pretty normal for anything that has just a pin and clip. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Durango we're doing a test fit on the Stromberg Carlson 23 x 60 Cargo Carrier. This has been designed to carry up to 500 pounds. It's for use on 2" hitches. The part number on it is CC-100. As you can see the base of our carrier here it's going to have a nice, large open hole, expanded steel type floor. It allows any of the water, dirt and debris to fall down and out so it's not sitting on top of our carrier. We've also got a nice raised edge that's going to go all the way around the outside. more

It's smooth so we don't have any of the sharp edges. But it gives us plenty of those areas for that dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall right down and out on to the ground. more

As you can see, we've got an expanded steel style floor here that allows that dirt and debris and stuff to fall through and not build up on top of our carrier. Now, this cargo carrier is going to be 25 inches wide by 60 inches long and with its expanded metal base, it's going to have a 500-pound weight capacity. This rack also comes with a 2-inch shank to connect to our 2-inch receivers only but the hitch pin and clip that do connect it are not going to be included. Another nice feature about this rack is it's going to have the ability to fold up against the back of the vehicle when you don't have it in use. MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Dodge Charger- Video
All right today on this 2012 Dodge Charger, we're going to show you the max tail cargo carrier with the 60 inch pivoting ramp, part #MT70275. Let's start our test fit by putting it into our hitch of our Charger. Even though most of it is constructed from aluminium, it's actually a good idea to have an extra set of hands to install it because it does get quite close to the car. Once we have it in place, go ahead and install the included hitch pin and clip. So you reach in through the cargo carrier for easy access to your pin. So go ahead and tighten the anti-rattle device. We just slide this up against the hitch and we'll go ahead and use a 16mm socket and wrench to tighten these bolts up and that'll take up some of the play with the cargo carrier. We'll tighten these two fasteners down and that will set them in place and lock them in. This time we'll use a 16mm wrench. With the anti-rattle device, we can see it takes a lot of movement so we shouldn't have too much problem with this working up against the bumper. more

It's going to have that nice sturdy construction with that solid base and a 300-pound weight capacity. If you look down here, you're going to see a 2-inch shannk attached into our 2-inch receiver only. It's going to have a 7/8 inch anti-rattle bolt going through it that's going to secure it and help reduce the sway, rattle and wobble as you can see here. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement will first from the back side of the bumper to the front side of the rack at about 5 3/4 inches. more

It's also going to have that nice expanded metal base for easy cleanability and a 2-inch folding shank that will allow you to tuck it up on the back of the vehicle when you don't have it in use. Again, with that 2-inch shank, you're only going to be able to attach that to your class 3 or 2-inch receiver and it's going to be attaching via a hitch pin and clip. Our closest distance will be up here first at about 6 1/2 inches before it meets up with the weld to the back end of the receiver, from the rack to the back side of the bumper is going to be able 11 3/4 inches. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2007 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2007 Dodge Ram, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Maxxtow 27x47 Cargo Carrier and this cargo carrier comes with a 60 inch pivoting ramp that's going to be fairly solid almost completely made out of aluminum except for this steel plate here. It's going to come with your 2 inch shank, 500 pound weight capacity and your hitch pin and clip are included. It's going to be part number MT70275. We'll go ahead and put it on our Ram today and it does have a little bit of weight to it with that steel plate on the bottom, so just be aware of that if you are trying to strong hand it by yourself. Go ahead and put your shank into your receiver and line up your pin holes. Once you have your pin holes lined up, go ahead and slide in your hitch pin and your clip. Today on our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, we'll be test fitting the 72 by 32 by 39 Let's Go Aero High-Profile Enclosed Cargo Carrier with ramp, part number HCK673. It offers us 51 cubic feet of space, has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. We can go ahead and begin our test fit by taking a few measurements. Now we've already got the shank of our carrier into our receiver and tightened down and with our included anti-rattle bolt. We've already got our supports tightened down to our fixed anchor point underneath our vehicle or our bumper. It's always good to have a helping hand when you're loading this thing up, because it does weigh a few pounds. For our nearest point from our bumper to here, it's going to be about 7". Overall to our Dodge Ram we've added about 47". more

Now its dimensions are 17 by 46, has a max capacity of 500 pounds, and it can be used for 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. We can go ahead and start by loading our shank into our receiver. We'll get our pinholes lined up. Once we have those lined up we'll take our included anti-rattle bolt and pin. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab we will be test fitting the MaxxTow cargo carrier, part number MT70107. This cargo carrier offers 500 capacity and has dimensions of 17 by 50". Now I'll go ahead and insert the shank into our receiver until our pinholes line up. Once we have those lined up, take our pin and clip. Once we have that we'll go ahead and take a couple measurements here. As you can see, we've got 16-1/2" of ground clearance. To the nearest point we're looking at about 4" from our cargo carrier to our bumper. more

Curt 19x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Series Quad Cab pickup, we're going to be testing fitting the Curt Aluminum Cargo Carrier. This does have a five hundred pound capacity. It's dimensions are nineteen by sixty inches and it's designed for two inch hitches as well. It's part number is C18100. We've got a two inch hitch on this truck here today so we're going to begin by sliding the shank of the cargo carrier into the receiving tube of the hitch until the pinholes are aligned and once they are we're going to push the pin through and then we're going to place the clip in the other end of that pin. Now that that's in place, we're going to do a couple of measurements starting with ground clearance. This carrier is going to offer just about fifteen inches of ground clearance to this point right here. more

What we are going to do is rest the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch then we'll come around to the rear. We are going to lift up and push in at the same time. Now we need to slide it in far now so that pinhole lines up with our hitch pinhole. We'll then take our standard five eights pin, we are going to slide that through then we'll secure it on the other side with our clip. Now the pin and clip will be sold separately. more
